Lunch with the Dean

Today we met as a delegation with the Dean of University of Jinan and a number of the school Directors.  Here we are all together at their International Exchange building.  The Dean is the woman in the red dress in the front row near the center.  She goes by Grace, and she is such a friendly lovely woman.  She always smiles when she sees us and she thought it was really neat that I was Emily’s mother.

They took us to eat at a very nice restaurant that serves authentic food (according to the director).  They explained many of the customs regarding where each host sits depending on male or female and how they make toasts.  We had goat, shrimp, oysters, pork, fish and many other delicious items. As you can see below the fish (and oysters and shrimp) are kept whole.  Everything was amazing.
